Limited edition linocut, edition of 5 numbered prints
I created ‘Fox of the Twilight’ in celebration of urban foxes, their untamed nature and their ability to adapt to different environments, regardless of whether people like them or not.
There are a number of urban foxes in the area where I live. They are anything but rare, and yet, I always feel happy seeing one.
I love the way they move, skirting along, ducking low, stopping, making eye contact, holding my gaze for a few breaths before moving on, checking in again, and finally disappearing.
Despite the fact that urban foxes are used to living with people and at times come astonishingly close they remain fierce, alert, wild. They are of the wild.
Print details:
This is a reduction linocut, i.e. one block was used to print multiple layers and colours. This process cannot be repeated, i.e. it is a true limited edition.
The first layer is a blend of orange and red, with the final layer printed in black water-based relief printing ink on acid free cartridge paper, 190gsm.
Each print is hand-pulled and unique and may vary slightly from the image on your monitor.
Please be assured that I only enter prints that I believe to be beautiful into the limited edition (quite a few did not make the edition…)

Print Size: 300mm x 200mm (11.6" x 8") approx.
Note: Whilst I created the 'Fox of the Twilight' and 'Fox Magic' prints at the same time in spring 2022 they are meditations on the same subject but they are created from two different blocks.
